Situated in a residential area of close to the former mansions of the exiled
King of Spain and the exiled King of Romania, Pension Pica-Pau is built
in typical Portuguese style
and is decorated throughout with traditional Portuguese tiles and on
its façade with hand-painted tiles.
Estoril, with its Mediterranean vegetation, which flowers twice a year,
thanks to the mild climate, is a year-round resort, offering a varied
sports calendar throughout the year and in summer a craft fair, open-air
exhibitions and a music festival.
Estoril is a sophisticated resort with palm-lined avenues and the largest
Casino in Europe, which offers a spectacular range of international shows.
Cascais, 3 kms away, is a good shopping centre and has regular summer
concerts and festivities. Here the fishermen still go out daily and in
the evening you can accompany the fish auction. A promenade, along the
sea front, links Estoril and Cascais.
